About

I began my career with dreams of writing the next classic novel and so I moved to New York in the uncertain months following 9/11. A series of chance encounters and life’s odd coincidences led me to working for my dream industry – magazines – but I entered through the back door – print production. It was a perfect fit. This led to a career of creative collaboration and project management.

For fifteen years I was fortunate to work for established companies in New York, such as Sotheby’s, Condé Nast and New York Magazine. This work taught me strong communication, creative and operational leadership skills, and provided substantial experience managing digital and print projects. I learned to implement a broad range of workflows and manage diverse teams of producers, editors and designers across the world.

As I moved to working with in-house creative agencies at Sotheby’s and then UL, I developed specialization in creative process evaluation, content management strategy and various project management tools and systems. I love to take on challenges. As a project manger, I love to clear the path for other creatives by solving all the problems and blockers that drain motivation, offtrack projects and kill morale.

And then I moved back to the Midwest.

Today I am a Creative Services Operations specialist and marketing consultant. I am well versed in creating and managing in-house creative agencies and customizing workflows and project management solutions. I have refocused my passion into producing collaborative, creative work. As a talented writer and thinker, I can help dream up, create and direct creative projects and content.

What People Say

I was fortunate to hire Michael as AVP / Head of Creative Operations North America at Sotheby’s between 2015 to 2017. Michael was an extremely accomplished operational lead who was highly skilled at ensuring maximum productivity and efficiency within our Creative department.

I cannot recommend Michael highly enough for a client or firm in need of these exceptional talents.
